Get Away and Get Back to Yourself – Elegant Retreat in an Historic Setting

Life can be kind of crazy and hectic, but here at the Balch Hotel you step away from all that, into another world — a simply elegant setting surrounded by the serenity of nature that soothes and inspires you.

When you arrive you’ll be greeted with homemade chocolate chip cookies and a warm cup of tea  in the cooler months or icy lemon water when it’s hot. You’ll be guided from the turn of century lobby to your room, deliciously appointed with charming antiques and a comfy bed.

Then sip a glass of local wine or a cold beer in the parlor while you enjoy books and games from our library. Relax outside under an umbrella on the slate patio or on the lush lawn facing Mount Hood. Incredible view.

We’re an art gallery too, so you can gaze at the original art from local artists that adorn the walls. Chat serendipitously with other guests or enjoy your privacy.

Later experience a bliss inducing facial or delicious body treatment. Then lounge, read or do yoga in the gardens, meditate under the evergreens or write in a hammock by the pond. You can even create your own Soul Art in an afternoon art therapy session with Claire.
