Wednesday on the Water

#WednesdayOnTheWater | #ColumbiaRiver | #SnakeRiver

Washington may be the Evergreen State, but there’s a significant portion of the state that is brown. But brown ≠ boring! The rolling brown hills on the east side of the gorge are always stunning, and make a beautiful backdrop with a rising or setting sun. As much as I love to show a picture of cruise ships amid the lush greenery that everyone associates with the #Northwest, I feel a responsibility to remind us all that the east half is equally beautiful, and perhaps unexpected to visitors. Eastern Washington and Oregon are drastically different from the stereotypes that surround the Northwest, and this uniqueness is part of its charm!

The S.S. Legacy is cruising Alaska this Spring and Summer, but returning to the Columbia & Snake Rivers for Fall. You can choose the classic “Rivers of Wine” itinerary, enjoying 7-nights roundtrip from Portland, visiting wineries in Walla Walla, Hood River, Red Mountain, Willamette Valley and the award-winning Maryhill Winery! Or be a bit more daring and try the brand new “Rivers of Adventure” itinerary – 8-nights from Portland to Clarkston, or reverse. Take scenic hikes that normal cruises have no time for, bike the Twin Tunnels Trail, try whitewater rafting on the Deschutes, join a guide for yoga in the park – so much fun to be had!
