Leavenworth Mai Fest

Maifest is a German tradition dating back to the 10th century when villagers would gather to celebrate the arrival of spring by planting flowers, playing music and games, and raising a “maipole” in the local square. The pole would be decorated with sausages, cakes, flowers, and ribbons, and villagers believed that dancing around it would bring good luck and wealth to the village.
Friday May 8th- Stroll around town and enjoy the music and entertainment at the Gazebo from 3:30-5:45pm.
Saturday May 9th– Saturday is packed with live Chainsaw Carving, Bavarian music, and Maipole dancing. Our Festzug (Grand March) starts at Noon! Wear your Bavarian best and join us for this fun parade! We wrap up this amazing day with an evening Alphorn serenade!
Sunday May 10th- We will have live music, more traditional Maipole dancing, and Chainsaw carvers throughout the day!
