Lincoln City Summer Kite Festival
June 21 - June 22

The Lincoln City Summer Kite Festival is a joyful, sky-high celebration that delights all ages. Held June 21–22, 2025, on the beach at D River State Recreation Site, this annual tradition fills the coastal sky with massive, colorful kites—think octopuses, whales, and expertly maneuvered Rokkaku kites twirling in midair. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. each day with performances by professional fliers, plus a free kite-making workshop for kids and families. All weekend long, visitors can enjoy Pixie Fest carnival games, stroll through the whimsical Wind Garden, admire art kite displays, and grab a bite from Kristi’s Food Truck.
Parking is easy with free shuttles running from the Lincoln City Community Center and Lincoln City Outlets between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Leashed dogs are welcome, and service animals can even ride the shuttle. While the sky is reserved for the pros during the festival, spectators are encouraged to enjoy the show and maybe pick up a souvenir at Scout Northwest Trading Company. With ocean breezes, vivid colors, and family-friendly fun, it’s a magical weekend on the Oregon Coast.
