Portland Film Festival

This October 2025, Portland won’t just be the city of roses—it’ll be the city of film. All for the love of cinema, our event is jam-packed with networking, workshops, guest speakers, film premieres, financing talks, director Q&As and more. There’s a reason Portland is different. Come be a part of what MovieMaker Magazine calls “one of the coolest film festivals in the world.”

Every year, the festival selects various theater and pop-up locations to host events, screenings, parties, and more. This year’s event will be hosted at the Kennedy School.

The Portland Film Festival is one of the city’s biggest celebrations of independent film, bringing together filmmakers, industry professionals, and movie lovers for a week of screenings, workshops, and special events. Known for showcasing a wide variety of independent voices, the festival highlights feature films, documentaries, shorts, and animated works from around the world, along with plenty of stories rooted in the Pacific Northwest. Screenings take place at venues across Portland, making it easy to combine your movie-going with exploring the city’s neighborhoods, restaurants, and nightlife. Attendees can take part in panel discussions, networking events, and Q&A sessions with filmmakers, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process.
