Soap Lake Food & Folk Festival

The 2nd annual Soap Lake Food & Folk Festival is back, bringing music, food, and community spirit to the shores of one of Washington’s most unique natural landmarks. The namesake of the charming town of Soap Lake is a rare meromictic soda lake formed by the ancient Missoula Floods.
Friday kicks things off with hands-on fun and live entertainment at several local spots. Kids and adults alike can make their own drumsticks for Saturday’s drum circle, join in an Open Mic Night, and catch live music and a DJ in the evening.
On Saturday, the main event unfolds at Smokiam Park with a full lineup of live music, artisan vendors, a beer garden, delicious food, and a family activity zone. Plus, you’ll have chances to win great prizes.
The Saturday Mainstage lineup kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with the Killdeer String Band, playing original and traditional folk sounds ranging from Celtic and Klezmer to Bavarian and bluegrass. At noon, Leif Totusek and Freestyle Candela take the stage with global rhythms inspired by Soukous guitar, Pan-African styles, and Cuban Rumba. At 2:00 p.m., enjoy Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers”, blending swing standards and Django Reinhardt-inspired tunes. Valentyn Lysenko performs at 4:00 p.m., sharing Ukrainian melodies and original bandura compositions. At 5:30 p.m., Kimball & the Fugitives with Annie Eastwood heat things up with blues, jazz, and sultry vocals. The night closes out at 7:30 p.m. with award-winning Billy Stoops and the Dirt Angels, delivering soulful Americana and alternative country. (Note: Lineup subject to change.)
