So many times, we forget to be a tourist in our own backyard. I felt that way when I kept driving past the Washington State capitol – just in view of I-5 as you drive through Olympia. It is just a short distance to the Capitol buildings and well worth a stop. Don’t keep driving past on your trip between Seattle and Portland. Stop and admire the amazing architecture and history that is there. You can just wander the grounds, but I encourage you to step inside the building and take a tour if you can. The architecture and grandeur is stunning.
