The White Stag Sign, Portland, Oregon

Published by BNW Staff On October 19, 2016

Today’s Northwest Moment photo is by Zack Spear.

Portland, Oregon is not short on iconic attractions, but one that is perhaps particularly photogenic is known as the “White Stag Sign” located near the Burnside Bridge along the waterfront.

The sign is owned by the city of Portland now, but was originally made by the White Stag Sportswear company. During the holidays the stag’s nose lights up in a nod to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

If you want to get a good photo of the sign like this one, you can walk across the Burnside Bridge, though we also like taking a walk down to the Steel Bridge and coming back along the eastside of the Willamette River for a scenic view of downtown including the time.
