The photo of a rim ice encrusted rock monolith piercing the sky like a giant dagger captivated me. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago when my climbing partner and I finally made it to the 11,250 summit of Mt. Hood with a perfect view of Illumination Rock – the image that I had dreamed about for 5 years. It was worth the wait.”
