There are so many beautiful beaches along the Oregon coastline, it is hard to choose just one to call a favorite. I recently visited Arcadia Beach just south of Cannon Beach on the northern coastline. While Cannon Beach is one of the most photographed beaches in the Northwest, there are multiple “haystack” style rocks up and down the coastline all just waiting to be photographed. The rock formations make for great photos. The rocky outcrops at Arcadia Beach reminded me of giant dinosaur feet heading out to the water.
Arcadia Beach is a public beach about 2 miles south of Cannon Beach with a parking lot nearby and steps down to the beach which aren’t too steep. It draws a much smaller crowd than Cannon Beach, so if you prefer a quiet little beach that still has tide pools, great scenery, steams to play in, rocks to explore, and it isn’t a long walk to get out to the water’s edge (I’m not big on tromping through dry sand,) this may be your new favorite beach.
