It’s been a long, chilly winter, and it’s not over yet, but there are some positives to those frigid days and nights, like the sight of frozen Franklin Falls.
KOMO News shared this spectacular image on Instagram that was captured by @mangojolie, noting, “What a winter it’s been!”
The frozen cascades of water with epic icicles can be found just off Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass at the Denny Creek/Tinkham Road exit. Dozens of hikers and snowshoers have been navigating the icy, snow roads to get to the Franklin Falls trailhead and take the one-mile trek that follows the south fork of the Snoqualmie River to the partially frozen falls.
As the groundhog saw its shadow just yesterday, you might just have another six weeks of winter to get out there and snap a few photos yourself.
