Located on the Oregon side of the Columbia River near Bonneville Dam, the fish hatchery is a fascinating stop for the entire family. In a park-like setting, you can see the historic fish hatchery that has been on this site since the 1930s. A highlight is to visit the viewing window where you might see Herman the Sturgeon swimming around with his buddies. Herman is over 75 years old – a very large sturgeon that has been here for decades. An underwater viewing window, or from topside where he swims in a clear, cool, large pond in a natural setting. Nearby is another pond filled with rainbow trout.  Visit the nice gift shop for treats or some fun gifts and mementos.  The entire site is FREE to  visit.
