If you look for the Sylvia Beach hotel and expect to find it on Sylvia Beach, you might be surprised to find the hotel was not named after a beach. It sits on Nye Beach in the city of Newport, Oregon and was named after a famous bookstore owner named Sylvia Beach.  With its literary namesake, the hotel has a unique book-theme throughout – from the “Tables of Content” restaurant to rooms decorated in the style of your favorite authors including Agatha Christie, Jane Austen, J.K. Rowling, Dr. Seuss and everything in-between.  Check their website to find the room you desire, then call for reservations. They don’t take reservations online and prefer the voice-to-voice contact of an actual phone call.  Breakfast is included with your stay. The hotel sits in the heart of Nye Beach, an historic shopping district where there are plenty of restaurants and lovely little shops to visit.  The beautiful Oregon beaches are just steps away for you to explore tide pools, search for sand dollars, fly a kite, or picnic on the beach.  The Sylvia Beach Hotel is a historic hotel on the National Historic Register with more than enough personality for a memorable stay.
