There are many reasons to visit Edgefield – a great location for outdoor concerts, multiple dining and drinking spots, hotel, and plenty of gardens to explore. The entire complex is open to the public – go there for a weekend, or just enjoy a beer and a wander. The gardens are filled with Oregon native plants, herbs, and vegetables in a mixture of lush abandon. The location was once a poor farm back in the early 1900s. In the 1990s it was reimagined by the McMenamin brothers, turning it into a magical destination and long-time Portland area favorite.
Exploring the gardens brings surprises and a symbiotic relationship with the buildings it envelops.
Each building contains something new – a winery, a brewery, a restaurant, a craft making shop, a music venue, a wedding venue, and more.
