Quartzville Creek is a 28 mile tributary to the Middle Santiam River in Linn County, Oregon. Located about midway between Salem and Bend as you head east into the Cascades. The area is a favorite spot for camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and maybe even a little gold-panning. Once an area with a small mining claim, the site was abandoned in the late 1800s and left to decay. The site of the old town is long gone, but you won’t be disappointed by the beautiful natural creek and old growth forest.
Visitors to Quartzville Creek enjoy seeing a unique, colorful combination of old-growth stands, cascading whitewater, water clarity, rocky outcrops and diverse vegetation of conifers and hardwoods.
