Wow, what a view! There is still time to go visit and ride the Swiss-made 4-person gondola up to the summit of Mt. Howard to enjoy spectacular views of Wallowa Lake and the mountains beyond. The 3,700 ft tram ascent offers you memorable views and a chance to explore the mountain top’s summit at 8,150 ft. You can explore the well marked 2 ½ miles of hiking trails or just sit for lunch indoors at the Summit View restaurant or maybe a beer on the Alpine Patio outside and watch the world below. The tram begins running in May and the last run is September 30.
Wallowa Lake is found in Northeastern Oregon near the intersection of Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. The beautiful town of Joseph is nearby and known for its great artworks found throughout town. Make a weekend of it and explore the wide variety of things to do in the Wallowa Lake area.
