We’re always so used to the luscious green associated with the valleys of the Pacific Northwest – but sometimes we forget about the incredible beauty found in our desert region! Yes, this is still a picture of the Columbia River, just east of the gorge. This photo was taken from the outdoor exhibits at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum in The Dalles, Oregon.
Every year, visitors from around the world come to the Northwest to cruise the Columbia River, and are always surprised at the variety of landscape they witness as they cruise the length of the states (Clarkston to Astoria). For 2018, we have schedules for 6 ships that will be cruising the Columbia River. And most (if not all) will be visiting the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum – the east side is dedicated to the history of Western development in the region, while the west side of the museum focuses on natural history.
