One of our favorite Northwest photographers/Instagrammers, @flaviu.r.g._photography, shot this picture-perfect moment in Idaho, noting:
“Capturing the beauty of summer White Cloud Mountains storm. I have always enjoyed the beauty of summer storm. They cool the earth, they quench its thirst and provide brilliant colors shows.”
The White Cloud Mountains have been called one of America’s best-kept secrets. They’re named for the snow-white rock of several peaks, and as they are part of a failed national-park proposal some four decades ago, few know about them. That means you can often enjoy spectacular scenery like this, along with the abundant wildlife that live here, like elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goats and black bears, practically all to yourself.
