Apple Cider Pressing at the Cedar Creek Grist Mill

The apple cider pressing day at Cedar Creek Grist Mill is their largest celebration of the year and a highlight of autumn in the Northwest.  Pressing around 10,000 pounds of apples into the finest autumn drink around, volunteers run hand cranked wooden presses and will encourage your kids to help too.  Children can help create the apple cider, see how a water-powered grist mill works to create flour and cornmeal, and get a hands-on feel for history and an un-plugged way of life.  Enjoy a bluegrass jam as musicians from all over are welcome to bring their instrument and join in playing some lively bluegrass music on the back deck.  This very popular event can have lines as people wait to pick up a jug of freshly squeezed cider, but don’t be deterred.  The event is such a fun family outing!  Set among the wooded hills east of Woodland, WA, the scenic drive alone is worth it!
