It may seem like autumn just started, but winter has already been taking hold in the Northwest and the shot @erikhenne captured near Snoqualmie Pass sums it up just before, with one lone gold-hued tree holding out among the snow covered pines.
There was snow in the lowlands too, early for this time of year which has more than a few people wondering what’s in store this season. Be prepared for a cold wet one as it’s a La Nina winter which means colder and wetter than usual, with lots of snow in the mountains and likely more in the lowlands too. Of course, that also means great skiing and boarding. In fact Mt Hood Timberline is already open.
