What setting could be more relaxing than the Puget Sound? Combine the beautiful setting with beautiful music, and you have a weekend to remember.
The Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival offers concerts by internationally renowned performers in a series of 10 concerts beginning August 2nd and ending August 17. Special events include lectures, and a free children’s concert August 7.
The festival begins August 2nd and 3rd with the stunning mezzo-soprano and Metropolitan Opera star Susan Graham, accompanied by the inimitable pianist Jon Kimura Parker. The final concerts on August 16th and 17th feature the world premiere of a new string quartet by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Kevin Puts, performed by the Miró Quartet.
