Wings Over Water Birding Festival
March 15, 2019 - March 17, 2019
Head North to Blaine for the 17th Annual NW Wings Over Water Birding Festival. There will be speakers, exhibits, cruises, kid’s activities, birding field trips, bird viewing stations, photography workshops, arts and crafts, and spectacular scenery.
The coastal waters of Drayton Harbor, Birch Bay and Semiahmoo Bay at the northwest corner of Washington State is a major stopover on the Pacific Flyway between Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, B.C., and is within easy driving distance of both. The area is designated as an Important Birding Area (IBA) and is the anchor for the North Cascades Loop of the Great Washington State Birding Trail.
The city of Blaine provides amenities and numerous festivals and activities throughout the year, and beaches at Birch Bay are safe and popular for recreational activities, including boating, clamming and crabbing.
