If you don’t have plans yet, Seattle hosts one of the biggest events for Independence Day, which concludes with a spectacular fireworks show over Lake Union. Visitors and locals alike can join the massive celebration at Gas Works Park. The annual Lake Union festival features food, vendors, live entertainment, games and a beer garden. If you happen to have a boat, or know someone who does, you’ll have the best viewing place of all, right on the lake. If not, just bring a blanket and stake out a spot – you really can’t go wrong.
