A flight of locally crafted beers, a warm sunny day, good food, and surrounded by friends. What better way to spend a late Saturday afternoon? We stopped by Gilgamesh Brewery when in town on Saturday recently and enjoyed a nice, leisurely lunch. Mid-afternoon was the perfect time to go with plenty of seating available and we could sit and enjoy the babbling brook under the trees outside on the patio. Located in South Salem off Madrona Ave. near the airport, Gilgamesh is an unexpected find in what at first looks like a business park. The rustic cabin exterior, stone fireplace, and wood floors with plenty of windows, make this a place I would want to come back to on a cold and blustery day. But this day was blue skies and perfect Northwest weather at about 75 degrees. We ate outside and shared a nice flight of 7 samplers so we could try a selection of their beers and ciders. Between us we tried the soup, salads, turkey & bacon sandwich, and nachos. The food was good and the service was fabulous. Give Gilgamesh a try!
