The Grist mill is an iconic SW Washington treasure – an historic 1876 building that helped feed and build the area.  Now on the National Register of Historic Places and run by a loyal crew of volunteers who love running and teaching about the machinery and what it can still produce. Watch them grind fresh cornmeal or wheat flour in this water-powered mill. Set among the rolling rural  hills east of Woodland, the drive there is just as enjoyable.  Visitors will see volunteers work the mill, answer questions about the old style milling process and welcome visitors from around the globe. School field trips and senior tours are scheduled for weekdays and the mill is open to visitors on weekends.  Check their schedule for fun annual events including blueberry pancakes, cornbread day, and apple cider pressings!
