Monti’s Cafe is for people who love character. Ambience is key at Monti’s for those that love history, books, vintage, antiques, nostalgia, or just like someplace homey. Mismatched tables and chairs, bookshelves, vintage lamps, turn-of-the-century coat racks, all combine to create an inviting and cozy atmosphere.
Stop by for a cup of coffee and a giant cookie, a hot cup of chai and a strawberry scone, a breakfast parfait or smoothie, or a sandwich and bowl of soup. It is a great place to meet up with a friend, have something to eat, and explore the antique mall afterwards.
The fact that it is attached to one of the best antique malls around, Monticello Antique Marketplace, is a bonus. Monti’s sits on a balcony slightly overlooking the vintage marketplace. Monticello’s is very good at keeping the stock rotating seasonally, and you rarely will see the same items waiting for you if you come back a week later. It is always a fun adventure visting the various market stalls, never knowing what treasure you will find. They also have a large consignment furniture room, and a garden room where you can wander through displays listening to birds chirping and perhaps a water fountain bubbling away. It is a favorite spot of mine, because they know the importance of ambience.
Located just off I-205 at Stark Street in the Montavilla neighborhood, it is easy to find and well worth the visit.
