Beacon Rock State Park is located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area about 35 miles east of Vancouver, Washington. It’s been closed due to its proximity of the Eagle Creek fire and the Archer Mountain fire, but we got some good news this afternoon from Washington State Parks. It’s just reopened. While air quality is still poor, we’ll take any good news we can get with the fires that have been ravaging one of the Northwest’s greatest treasures.
With that, we’ve decided to feature this image, captured by @dont_do_it_red as our Best of the Northwest photo of the week. We’re so lucky to call this region home – let’s not ever forget that!
