We’ve had a lot of rain in the Northwest this winter, but when you start to feel extra soggy, it can be helpful to remember that rain is what helps make this region one of the most spectacular on Earth, producing gorgeous waterfalls like Koosah Falls in Oregon.
“If there is magic on the planet, it is contained in the water,” writer and philosopher Loren Eisley once said. And, we agree, waterfalls are especially magical, which is why we’ve chosen this image as our photo of the week.
Koosah, also known as Middle Falls, is one of the “Waterfall Wonders” in the Eugene, Oregon region along the McKenzie River. It plunges roughly 70 feet into a deep pool below and is surrounded by the lush, vibrant greenery that the Pacific Northwest is so well-known for.
