There’s something about a rain forest that seems inherently “Jurassic,” and the Hoh Rain Forest in Olympic National Park truly does. The fallen trees immediately become hosts to hundreds of new plants, and even on dry days the moisture seems to seep into your bones. The trees that are standing look as if they are truly something from another world. If you dare stroll through when it’s dark, these giants, covered with thick layers of moss, look as if they’re monsters come to life.
Take the Hall of Mosses loop from the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center and you can experience some of the best of the state’s lush rain forest – be on the lookout for everything from banana slugs to Roosevelt elk, and use your imagination to think about what life would be like to live in a real “Jurassic World.” What do these trees do when no one is looking?
