You can tell a true Northwesterner by their intense desire to put their feet in the ocean, no matter the temperature. The Oregon Coast is constantly calling to my spirit – I can feel those waves ebbing and flowing all day, every day, no matter the season, the weather, the stormy clouds on the horizon! And yes, in February, I’ve been known to put my bare feet in the water. I know you’ll say, ‘But isn’t it cold in February?’ Honey, the water’s cold in August! Just get in there – your toes will be numb before you know it. LOL!
No, I’m not advising you to put your toes in the freezing cold ocean water until their numb. That’s a personal choice that even lifelong Northwesterners will frown upon. But the call to put your feet in the water is strong and hard to ignore.
